Walpole, MA.
Mike Loring Financial Goal

This will be Mike’s first, and according to him, his only marathon (we’ll see about that!). We are excited and honored to have Mike running for Team A Leg Forever in 2026.
And if you’re driving through Walpole, you might just spot him out training around town. Feel free to give him a friendly toot as you go by.

A quote from Mike:
“At the end of the day, when you have the opportunity and the means in your life to help others, you need to take advantage of those times to contribute.”
Thank you, Mike, for making a difference in the lives of amputees and their families. We’re proud to have you on Team ALF.

Veteran
Tracy Kelly Applin Financial Goal

Tracy is now on her 4th marathon run for ALF, and she has been an absolute force behind the scenes. From fundraising to volunteering her time, Tracy’s generosity, kindness, and never-ending family support have truly lifted this foundation in so many ways.

This year we are especially excited to cheer on the sister duo — Tracy and her sister, Robyn! What an incredible moment for their family and for Team ALF. Thank you, Tracy and Robyn, for all that you do.

A quote from Tracy:
“My name is Tracy Kelly Applin and I am running my 4th Boston Marathon with Team ALF and my sister, Robyn Kelly Skerry, who is running her 1st Boston Marathon! I am excited to run again for A Leg Forever Foundation because we make a real difference in the life of an amputee and their families.”

First-Time Marathon Runner
Robyn Kelly Skerry Financial Goal

This is Robyn’s very first marathon, and we are incredibly grateful she chose to run it with A Leg Forever. Having Robyn and her sister Tracy on our team as the 2026 sister duo brings a level of excitement and heart that truly represents the spirit of ALF.

It would be impossible not to acknowledge the tremendous support Robyn, her family, and Marshall Roofing have given to ALF from day one. Their generosity toward the foundation — and their immediate support for JP and Paul after the bombing — is something we will never forget. We are forever grateful for their love, support, and never-ending kindness. Please join us in welcoming Robyn to Team ALF.

A quote from Robyn:
“I will be running my first ever marathon in Boston for this incredible charity, A Leg Forever, alongside my sister and all the other amazing runners. I am honored to have been chosen to run for ALF after working alongside the founders, JP and Paul, years ago. Now it’s my turn to make a difference in the community and in the lives of amputees.”

Lowell, MA.
Kirk Wayshville Financial Goal
.png)
Shout out to Kirk, who is working toward his 3rd marathon and his very first Boston. We are honored and excited to have him on Team ALF for 2026. If you spot Kirk training around Lowell, be sure to give him a shout - Go Kirk, go!

A quote from Kirk:
“Hey all, I’m Kirk! This will be my 5th marathon and 3rd major star, and I am so grateful to run my home marathon for a great cause and be able to give back to those in need. My wife and I are always teaching our two children to finish strong and to help those in need, so getting to run Boston for A Leg Forever Foundation and having them help me raise the money for the charity is a true blessing.”

Thank you, Kirk, for bringing that energy, heart, and family spirit to Team ALF.

New York City
Avery Schiffman Financial Goal
.png)
Avery discovered her love for running as a kid, and her passion for the sport has only intensified over the years. We are incredibly lucky that she chose A Leg Forever for her 2026 Boston Marathon journey. It is such an honor to have Avery on our team. Go Avery, go!

A quote from Avery:
“My name is Avery, and I’m honored to be running the 2026 Boston Marathon in support of A Leg Forever, an incredible organization that helps amputees and their families rebuild and thrive. I first discovered my passion for running growing up in Hong Kong, a spark that led me to compete in Cross Country and Track & Field throughout college. I studied Cognitive Behavioral Science and German, which deepened my understanding of mindset and motivation—both on and off the course. Now based in New York City and working in advertising, I continue to train and stay active in the running community. After qualifying for Boston at the 2024 NYC Marathon, I’m proud to run in tribute to JP and Paul Norden, whose resilience and strength embody the true spirit of Boston.”

Frist Boston Marathon
Eric Woodford Financial Goal
.png)
We have Eric Woodford, and this will be his very first Boston Marathon. It is such an honor to have Eric as part of Team ALF. Even better, Eric will be running alongside his brother Doug — so after our sister duo, we now have a brother duo on the course this year.

This marathon is definitely going to be interesting… who’s getting bragging rights , the older or younger sibling? Stay tuned!

A quote from Eric:
“My name is Eric Woodford. I am so honored to be running the 130th Boston Marathon with A Leg Forever Foundation! This will be my seventh marathon but my first Boston marathon. I’m extremely excited to be running for A Leg Forever. Learning about what all these tremendous people have gone through and continue to go through has really motivated me to help.”

Bath, PA.
Rebecca Coccia Financial Goal
.png)
When we received Rebecca’s application to run Boston, it was her reason for choosing ALF that truly sealed the deal for us. Rebecca is running the 2026 Boston Marathon in honor of her mom, whose life was changed forever in January 2025 after becoming an amputee and losing several digits on both hands and her good foot. Her strength, her spirit, and her family’s love inspired Rebecca to run, and it inspires us as well. We are honored and grateful to have Rebecca running for Team ALF.

A snippet of Rebecca’s “why”:
“After visiting your website, I felt an immediate connection. You talked about the foundation of your organization being based on the love and generosity that was shown to your sons after their life-changing injuries. My family has been blessed with the same overwhelming love and generosity, and I want to pay it forward.
My mom was a labor and delivery nurse for 35 years before she got sick , a career based on love, generosity, and helping others and another reason why I wanted to run. The fact that your organization is there to help people like my mom only made me want to run with you more.
I know all the goals she wants to accomplish (driving, playing golf again, etc.), and these would not be possible without people like you to give support in every way possible. It would be an honor to run for you.”

The honor is all ours, Rebecca. We’ll be rooting for you every step of the way, and we have no doubt you will do amazing. We also want to wish your mom the very best in her recovery process. When she is ready, we would be proud to extend an invitation for her to play in our ALF golf tournament.

(Side note: Rebecca’s mom is not a past ALF recipient - just someone whose story touches the heart of our mission.)

Returning Boston Runner
Doug Woodford Financial Goal
.png)
We are so thrilled to have Doug on Team ALF. Doug has supported A Leg Forever for years, including joining us at our annual golf tournament — and now he’s taking that support to the next level by stepping onto our marathon team. We couldn’t be more excited.

Doug will be running beside his brother Eric, which is sure to be something to see. And if these brothers are anything like JP, Paul, and Jonathan… let’s just say we might have a friendly little bet coming! We can’t wait to cheer this duo on all the way to Boylston Street.

A quote from Doug:
“My name is Doug Woodford and the 2026 Boston Marathon will be my 11th marathon and second Boston! I love to run and raise as much money for worthwhile organizations like A Leg Forever. Playing in ALF’s golf event has me inspired to do more. Can’t wait for race day!”

New York
Aidan Blake Financial Goal
.png)
We are so excited to introduce Aidan, coming in from New York. What started as a bucket-list goal has now become reality. With a couple of marathons already under his belt, Aidan is ready to take on Boston and we can’t wait to cheer him on. Thank you, Aidan!

A quote from Aidan:
“My name is Aidan and I started running about three years ago to start training for the New York City Marathon in order to raise money for ALS, a disease that my family has experienced the battle with before. Originally being from Massachusetts, it has always been a dream to one day run the Boston Marathon (even before I got into running I knew it was on my bucket list).
This year I will have run in the New York City Marathon and Chicago Marathon, but the opportunity to raise money for a charity close to home and my heart is something I’m incredibly excited for. I look forward to meeting all my team members in Boston soon, and to raise money for an incredible foundation. Please feel free to support in any way you can!”

7-Time ALF Boston Marathon Runner
Zelia Magliozzi Financial Goal
.png)
We are thrilled to welcome back for her 7th year with Team A Leg Forever, the incredible Zelia Magliozzi. Over the years, Zelia has raised more than $80,000 for our foundation, making a lasting impact on the amputee community we serve.

A dedicated athlete, Zelia has completed all the major marathons (and many more), earning her place as a true powerhouse in the running world. But what makes her extraordinary isn’t just her athletic achievements, it’s her heart.

Zelia is a force both on and off the course. When fellow runners have struggled or doubted they could finish, she has been the one encouraging, supporting, and lifting them all the way to the finish line. Her commitment to the mission of A Leg Forever, and her unwavering belief in others, has made her one of the greatest blessings to this foundation.

We often say that God has a plan for everything, and we are truly blessed that He sent us this running angel.

We can’t wait to cheer her on once again in 2026!
Thank you, Zelia, for everything you’ve done and everything you continue to be.
Fun Fact: She could probably wallpaper her entire house with ALF running gear… and we love her for it!

Stoneham, MA.
Giovanni Leone Financial Goal
.png)
Next up for 2026… from our hometown of Stoneham, MA - four-time Boston runner, Giovanni Leone.

We are over the moon to have Gio back with us yet again! When Gio was just 17, he told us he wanted to run Boston. We said, “Come back when you're 18.” Well… he did — and then again, and again, and here he is for round four!

Gio is an absolute force on the course, one of our fastest marathoners. Watching him run is electric. This kid does not stop for a pic or a hug… he’s all business, all heart, and all in for ALF, both running and fundraising.

Thank you, Gio, we’ll be cheering loud and proud for you all the way to Boylston!
Thank you, thank you!!
